'I know who I am' Enamel Magnet

Designed to accompany the exhibition Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur, this statement magnet champions the theme and title of one of the hero pieces in the show, an appliqued bedspread entitled I know who I am, 2024. The artwork was created by Sir Grayson Perry’s fictional artist alter-ego for the exhibition, Shirley Smith, who designed the bedspread for her own domestic recreation of the Wallace Collection. The message, ‘I know who I am’, conveys Shirley’s unquestioning confidence in herself and raises one of the key themes of the show, that of self-identity.
