Sir Winston Churchill discovered painting at the age of forty and revelled in his new pastime. He went on to produce over 600 paintings, of which more than 150 were painted on the French Riviera alone.

In Winston Churchill: Painting on the French Riviera, the artist Paul Rafferty reveals for the first time many newly discovered Churchill painting locations. We see how Churchill, with his ‘fearless impressions’ of the ‘paintatious’ area he loved so much, captured the scenes on canvas, and we learn much of his life in this, his favourite haunt.
