The Wallace Collection Catalogue of Italian Sculpture: Volumes I and II
Highlighting an area of the Wallace Collection that has previously been overlooked, these two volumes consist of over 150 entries that cover objects in bronze, marble, terracotta and wood that span some 500 years between the 15th and 20th centuries. Many of these works are made by, or associated with, some of the most recognised names in sculpture including Donatello, Pietro Torrigiani, Giambologna and Alessandro Algardi.
This stunning, two volume edition comprises of comprehensive descriptions, new photography and commentary exploring the objects attribution, dating, function, and social and historical context.
