'I know Who I Am' Rustic Over Door Panel

Designed especially for the shop to complement the exhibition Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur, this striking over door panel echoes one of the main themes of the show. It is inspired by the title and visual details of one of the hero pieces, an appliqued bedspread entitled I know who I am, 2024. The artwork was created by Sir Grayson Perry’s fictional artist alter-ego for the exhibition, Shirley Smith, who designed the bedspread for her own domestic recreation of the Wallace Collection. The message, ‘I know who I am’, conveys Shirley’s unquestioning confidence in herself and raises one of the key themes of the show, that of self-identity.
