During the 19th-century Rosa Bonheur was considered to be the most famous female artist, and the realism displayed in her paintings leaves no question as to why. Many of her works can be found in museums across the globe including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Musèe d'Orsay in Paris. The Wallace Collection proudly houses four of her paintings, one of which is titled, 'Brizo' an otterhound who has long been a firm favourite among visitors.
This painting is now available to purchase as a greetings card exclusively from the Wallace Collection and can be seen in the hall of the museum on the ground floor.
