Russian Aristocrat Anatole Demidoff, the Prince of San Donato (1812-1870), was an art collector who lived between his home in Paris and villa in San Donato (near Florence). Almost 80 works of art previously owned by Demidoff are now housed in the Wallace Collection after the 4th Marquess of Hertford acquired them in the late 19th century. These works include paintings, porcelain, furniture and fine examples of arms and armour.

This catalogue illustrates the flamboyant collectors acquisitions that can now be seen at the Wallace Collection, with full colour imagery and extensive essays.
