In celebration of the work of 18th Century rococo painter François Boucher (1703 – 1770) Melody Rose designer, Melanie Roseveare has based the collection on a selection of the paintings on show in the prestigious gallery.

Inspired by Francois Boucher’s ‘Cupid a Captive’ painted in 1754, the dessert sized plate is a contemporary interpretation of the painting, finished with hand painted platinum details.
Working with a third-generation pottery based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, the oldest of the famous ceramics towns, Melody Rose tableware is made by combining the latest technologies with traditional craft techniques and highly skilled artistry, with much of the process including decorating and gilding done by hand.
